What Is Straddle Next Hand?
Straddle Next Hand allows eligible players to choose whether they want to straddle in the upcoming hand.
A straddle is an optional bet placed before the cards are dealt. In Hijack Poker, the straddle amount is twice the big blind.
Instead of choosing to straddle at the start of a hand, you can now turn on the Straddle Next Hand option during the current hand.
If you're eligible when the next hand begins, your straddle will be posted automatically.
How to Use Straddle Next Hand
-
Join an eligible cash game table.
-
When the Straddle Next Hand button appears, tap it to turn the option on.
-
The button will indicate that your straddle is enabled.
-
If you remain eligible, your straddle will be posted automatically when the next hand begins.
You can tap the button again to turn it off before the next hand's cards are dealt.
Important: Turning on Straddle Next Hand does not guarantee that your straddle will be posted. You must still meet the eligibility requirements when the next hand begins.
When Is Straddle Next Hand Available?
The Straddle Next Hand button appears only when all the following conditions are met:
-
Cash Games Only: The feature is available at cash game tables, not tournaments.
-
Position: You must be the player expected to act first before the flop (UTG) in the next hand.
-
Enough Players: At least three players must be in the next hand, or two players plus one player joining.
-
Sufficient Funds: You must have enough available chips to cover the straddle.
-
Active Player: You must not be sitting out or leaving the table.
-
Normal Gameplay: The table must not be in a rebuy pause or waiting for a busted player to be removed.
The button appears after you have no more decisions to make in the current hand and remains available until the next hand begins.
How Much Is the Straddle?
The straddle is always twice the big blind (2X BB).
For example:
| Cash Game Blinds | Straddle Amount |
| $0.10 / $0.20 | $0.40 |
| $0.25 / $0.50 | $1.00 |
| $0.50 / $1.00 | $2.00 |
| $1.00 / $2.00 | $4.00 |
| $2.00 / $5.00 | $10.00 |
The straddle is posted only when the next hand begins, provided you're still eligible.
Can I Cancel My Straddle?
Yes. You can turn off Straddle Next Hand before the next hand's cards are dealt.
Simply tap the button again to disable it.
However, once the next hand begins and the straddle has been posted, it can no longer be canceled.
If you turn off the option too late, you may see this message:
"Too late to cancel: your straddle was posted."
This means your cancellation reached the table after the cards were dealt and your straddle had already been posted.

No. The game checks your eligibility again when the next hand begins.
